C-DAC: Centre for Development of Advanced Computing

 

  From the current academic year admissions to all PG diploma courses will be made through a common Admission test (C-CAT 2012).

C-CAT  will be conducted in the form of three test papers labeled as 

 

SECTION - A (English, Logical Reasoning and Quantitative Aptitude), 

SECTION - B (C Programming, Data Structures, Data Communications and Network, OOPs and Operating Systems) and 

SECTION - C (Computer Architecture, Digital Electronics and Microprocessors), each of one hour duration, having 50 questions of 3 marks each (maximum 150 marks). 

Depending upon the choice(s) of the programme(s) made by the candidate he/she will have to either appear in just one test paper (SECTION - A) or two test papers (SECTION - A and SECTION - B) or all the three test papers (SECTION - A, SECTION - B and SECTION - C).

 

 

· Those Candidates who qualify in C-CAT  will be offered admission to various PG diploma courses covered on the basis of their ranks and choices. There is no age restriction to appear in C-CAT

 

· C-CAT 2012 will be held on June 17, 2012 and July 1, 2012. Candidates may chose one of the dates as per their convenience while filling the application. The choice of date once made will not be altered unless approved in writing by C-DAC.

· To apply for admission to a desired programme, a candidate is required to qualify in the corresponding test paper(s) and also satisfy the minimum eligibility criteria of the respective academic programme.

· The candidates who have either appeared or are due to appear in the final examination of their qualifying degree in 2012 are also eligible to appear in the test. By qualifying in C-CAT 2012, candidates can apply for provisional admission subject to the condition that:(a) all parts of their final examination shall be completed by the date of registration in the programme, and (b) proof of having passed the qualifying degree with required eligibility by 30 September 2012.

· The candidates will be provided ranks based on their performance in Section A, Section A+B, Section A+B+C. If a candidate appears in multiple sections, he/she shall be provided multiple ranks accordingly. For example if a candidate appears in Section A and Section B, he/she shall be provided two ranks, based on performance in Section A and based on performance in Section A and B. A candidate can appear only in those sections which are chosen at the time of filling in the application. A candidate, who has not appeared for a particular section, will not get any position in the merit lists, which span over that section. For each programme a separate merit list will be prepared from the list of candidates opting for that programme. Admissions to various programmes at different centres will be made on the basis of merit in C-CAT 2012 subject to fulfilling of eligibility requirements.

· Candidates should note that mere appearance in C-CAT 2012 or being in any of the merit list neither guarantees nor provides any automatic entitlement to admission.Qualified candidates will have to apply for admission as per the prescribed procedure. Admissions shall be made in order of merit based on the choice exercised by the candidate and depending on the number of seats available in the programmes at the Admitting Centre(s).

· With regard to the interpretation of the provisions of any matter not covered in this Information Brochure, the decision of the C-DAC shall be final and binding on all the parties concerned.

· Only the candidates who qualify in C-CAT 2012 (whose names appear in the merit list) will be eligible to apply for admission to any of the corresponding academic programmes available at different centers. 

CDAC CET Entrance Exam 2012 :

Centre for Development of Advanced Computing invites Application for CDAC Common Entrance Test 2012 to the following CDAC Courses :

· Diploma in Embedded Systems Design ( DESD )

· Diploma in System Software Development ( DSSD )

· Diploma in Advanced Business Computing ( DABC )

The CDAC Courses are full time Post Graduate Level Programs which include an industry relevant Project and Seminar. Duration for each Course 22 Weeks.

Eligibility Criteria for CDAC CET  :

· CDAC CET Eligibility for DABC and DSSD Course 2014 :

An Engineering Degree ( UG / PG ) in Electronics / Electrical / Electronics & Communication / Electronics & Instrumentation / Computer Science &Engineering / Computer Engineering / Information Technology or MCA or M.Sc Computers with higher second class ( 55% and above ) in the final degree.

· Eligibility for CDAC CET DESD Course 2014 :

Engineering Degree ( UG / PG ) in Electronics / Electrical / Electronics & Communication / Electronics & Instrumentation / ComputerScience & Engineering / Computer Engineering / Information Technology or M.Sc Electronics / Instrumentation with higher second class ( 55% and above ) in the final degree.

Paper Pattern of C-CAT 2014:

· The examination will be conducted in three parts:-

· Section A - English, Critical Reasoning and Quantitative Aptitude

· Section B - Programming in C, Data Structures, Data Communications and Networking, OOPs and Operating Systems

· Section C - Computer Architecture, Digital Electronics and Microprocessors.

· Each section will have 50 questions, carrying three marks each and duration of one hour.

CDAC Selection Procedure 2012 :

Applicants will undergo a National level Common Entrance Test 2012 ( CET ) that is common for all the three courses. The CDAC CET Exam Pattern will be mainly objective type covering various technical and aptitude aspects.

Duration of the CDAC Common Entrance Test will be 120 minutes. CDAC Selection will be on the basis of performance in the CET, the preferences of course and the centre for CDAC Admission 2012 opted by the applicants. The applicant’s academic record will also be taken into consideration.

Application Procedure for C-CAT 2012:

The application form is available on the official website - http://www.cdac.in.

· The payment for the application form of Rs. 500/- plus Rs. 100/- for each PGD course can be made online through debit/credit card.

· The application fee can also be paid through a demand draft drawn in favor of ‘C-DAC Training’, payable at Hyderabad. The print out of the application form along with the DD should be sent to ‘C-CAT Coordinator, C-DAC, Nalanda Building, No. 1 Shivabagh, Satyam Theatre Road, Ameerpet, Hyderabad – 500016. Andhra Pradesh (India)’.

· The duly filled in application of those candidates wishing to appear for the C-CAT 2012 on June 17, 2012 should be submitted by June 12, 2012.

· The duly filled in application form of those candidates wishing to appear for the C-CAT 2012 on July 01, 2012 should be submitted by June 25, 2012.
